The VR Innovation Academy 11-month programme is designed to immerse students into a professional environment through real-world projects. This approach also promotes entrepreneurial thinking and knowledge.
The problem-solving mentality of project-based learning helps you to be more innovative in your thinking and teaches the skills needed to be successful in creating VR and AR content for the industry, government and especially vocational skills training and STEM education. These skills will also help you to be able to work in several fields, for example, in architecture and product visualization, game creation, multimedia designs and broadcast media.
This is an advanced course in VR and 3D development, and is provided at no charge to you.
The syllabus includes four months of VR background and theory, followed by seven months of experiential training, where you will be working under guidance on real VR/ 3D projects within the IDC, including projects for the City of Tshwane and international projects for EON Reality.
The Tshwane IDC VR Innovation Academy is part of a global network. The same programme is offered by EON Reality at many other IDC centres worldwide, for example, Texas, New York, Manchester (UK), Paris, Seoul, Melbourne, Mauritius and Doha (Qatar).
Most of the trainers and supervisors who you’ll be working with will come to Tshwane from either Manchester, Goteborg (Sweden) or Singapore.
